Herefordshire Ramblers AGM
The Herefordshire Ramblers AGM was hosted by Ross Group on the 26th of November, preceded by a walk from Little Dewchurch.
Herefordshire Trail 2022
The Herefordshire Trail, devised some years ago by Herefordshire Ramblers, runs for 154 miles on footpaths around the Herefordshire countryside and connects the five main towns of Bromyard, Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye, Kington and Leominster. Going through the valleys and over the hills it provides spectacular scenery and far off views.
Recently a team of volunteers have been working hard cutting back vegetation, brambles and blackthorn at stiles. The Ramblers working party have also been busy erecting new stiles, kissing gates and clearing long stretchers of the path (see the footpath maintenance photo gallery). All of this was necessary to put it in good order, promote the trail and to encourage people to walk in the countryside. Also to encourage visitors to come to Herefordshire and enjoy wonderful walking.
On the 10th May Herefordshire Ramblers had a re-launch of the trail and unveiled the new way-marker logo, in full colour featuring the cider apple synonymous with Herefordshire. These have now been put out by our volunteers helping those that walk the trail and keeping them on track.
On 17th June the whole route was walked (and partly run) in one day to celebrate the Herefordshire Trail going on the Visit Herefordshire web site. It has been digitised for people to download.
All of this has resulted in considerable improvements to the trail. Keeping a path in good condition is an ongoing task and Herefordshire Ramblers will continue this work into the future.

ITV have a new series “Wonders of the Border” exploring the scenery along the Offa’s Dyke, all episodes are available on the ITV Hub streaming service. Episode 2 includes a walk up Cat’s Back with some Herefordshire area ramblers.
